hi everyone, I've a real big problem with ASUS! my notebook has been at RMA for 2 months, they haven't fixed my problem!

now I want you to know all my situation! I think it's a grave injustice!

but my english is not so good, so if someone italian wants to read the story, and translate it for me, so I can post here and let you know the situation, so you can decide to buy or not a computer ASUS!

let me know your mail by PM, so I can send you the same mail I sent to some italian consumer association.

    thanks for help, Gianfranco

Sorry buddy, i'd like to help you out but my Italian sucks mucho grande i'm afraid.

I hope someone with better knowledge of the Italian language can help you out, RMA's can be a real *****.

If you don't find anyone here try looking for an Italian forum site like this. Since we have one in Holland to i assume there must be one.

    Goodluck!

edit: Wow, i got censured, didn't know we had that on notebookreview, lol

hi, the model is asus vx2s-ak111g (not the cheapest model by ASUS  ). after 3days I brought it at RMA because of:

-touchpad used once, seemed used about years!
-bad brightness from bottom of LCD panel (they recognised it, but the lab says that ASUS don't allow them to change the panel, infact in my RMA now there is not the diagnose "LCD panel doesn't visualize correctly" anymore)
-bluescreen undocking the notebook from docking station.

these are the first problems! the situation is very complicate... after a month the notebook wasn't ready yet, but they exchange motherboard and screen (with one with the same bad brightness problem! as I said, ASUS didn't allow to exchange with another model, even if the problem was diagnosed!). So I took my notebbok not ready (the touchpad wasn't been exchange) for christmas time. In this period I found any other problems: many signs and scratch on case and LCD cover, shuts down on 3d apps, one of the hotkeys broken, and as said, the same screen. in the period I had the notebook it was unusable for what I need it! after 3 weeks I return to RMA to complete it but, guess what!? touchad wasn't arrived yet! and to them, scratches on case were normal signs of manual operations! WHAT??
there are many many other steps! but now here it is the situation:

on monday I will take my notebook from RMA, but they didn't find nothing bad! so they exchange (maybe!!) only the touchpad! shuts down not detected, same crappy LCD, and I don't know for the case and LCD cover!

my RMA started on 16th november...
    thanks for help

Yeah I heard Asus Europe support was awful, unlike the North American one.

I think the best thing to do would have been to return it where you bought it since it had only been 3 days.

yeah, but first problems wasn't so bad! but after I give it to RMA for a month they have been incapable to give me information about it! and I could'n do anything, to have my notebook, to make a substitution with a new one (because of the long period at RMA), or give it back to ASUS to have my money back. by now my notebook is still at RMA! after over 2 months! now I would apreciate that ASUS gives my money back, so I can choose another brand :( in relation to the fact that after 2 months my notebook loses a part of his value! and this is not my fault!

Two months does seem like an awfly long time. Threaten to sue. That should make things go faster

    I would:

    1. Pester them to go faster with the RMA work. Then wait for your computer.
    2. If it still has problems, since it's already been in RMA twice, request an exchange with an equivalent or better model.

W.r.t. ASUS Europe support being bad: it depends on the country :) Europe is not a country.

    1. Do it every day... call, call, and then call again.
    2. Request an exchange. You are entitled to, if repeated RMAs do not fix the issues.
