    indefuseable,

that's something I learned early in my current quest for my next laptop. I wanted something with international warranty, with some brains (core duo) and good looks (not a grey box). [And who doesn't ?!?! :D ]

The usual suspects were ASUS and LG. But I soon gave up on ASUS when I realised that they are sold here in the UK (in pound sterling) for the price they are sold in Canada, in CAD$. Someone somewhere just forgot to work out the exchange rate at 2:1.

    Oh, well...the quest continues...

    All the best!

Im pretty sure they still speak english in the uk.

Your windows might start saying things like 'sod off you bugger' or something.

you could in theory replace the lcd yourself. It would be cheaper than importing it.

you know whats weird though is when I look at german sites for most laptops they are not only months ahead of north america but much cheaper.

If I did live in the uk id try to order from germany, or literally take the train there.

Sounds a great idea, but don't forget you could [almost] buy a low spec machine for the price of the train ticket.

    All the best!!

PS: By the way, the higher prices on ASUS machines seem to be common in the whole of the EU.
