I was hoping some one knows of some free software for the C90S,that can take still pics with the camera that is built in to the C90S.I know it cannot be obtained from the asus, intel or microsoft sites. As the software that is on those sites can only take videos.also some one here listed some from the gentech site but it also can not take stills. And some one listed a modified version amcap from noeld.com but its not freeware its fully 100% payware. So I was wondering if its hope less and that its just not possible to use the built in cammera to take stills with out shelling out more money as I have spent days on google this fourm and others and all of the software I have found is one of 3 things.1 not compatible with the camera 2 is pay only or 3 only does video only not stills.Any one know of any free software not listed on those sites thanks

Actually, the AM capture program (from ASUS I believe) has still photo option in the capture tab. If I remember correctly the release I'm using was obtained form this site in a thread posting.

The stock software definitly takes snap shots. I figured the OP was just looking for an alternative.

Ok hear is something strange I was using the latest driver package version V1.0.8.14 updated on 2007/12/24.It does not have the Take a Picture in any menu and Ctrl + I does absolutely nothing and the version of AMcap is not 9.00 (Build 0104) it says its version 9.00 (Build 0104j)note the j at the end. :realmad: :err:
However the older driver package version V1.0.6.28 _V1.0.7.2 updated way back on 2007/08/08 does have the Take a Picture and it is in the right place and Ctrl + I works perfectly. :wideeyed: :rolleyes2:
So why would asus not just migrate the old good and most of all working and fully functional right version of amcap into the latest driver package, and choose to instead replace it with a wrong inferior and most of all not working version of amcap with less fetchers and functions. :confused2:
Any way thanks for telling me what I needed to know to find the right AMcap version that actually works the first time, all the time and every time.
