    Hey all,

I have been running an Asus eee 1005ha for a couple years and happy with it aside from the inability to play HD video and lack of any games.

Sure I have a few(freedom force, torchlight, SAW, Jedi Knight, etc.)

But I really want to get a few better games on here, in particular, Witcher, Mass Effect(1 and 2), DA, Mount and Blade, you get the idea.

I don't mind running them at low res/quality to be playable.

So I've been looking at the 1215n and its ION and watching vids on youtube. It seems to play most everything I want, and still being a netbook nice and compact... I want one.

But looking at the Amazon page, a new one just came out, the 1215n PU27... Versus the old model is the PU17.

I havenet been in the hardware world for years... anyone know the difference?

Any input/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,

    -Tim

The PU27 has a 500GB HDD (versus 250GB in the PU17) and bluetooth, versus none in the PU17. Everything else looks the same, at least from the specs I've been able to find. Since the hard drive and bluetooth are not going to affect performance really, your best bet is to look at this thread to see how things perform: http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/515917-eee-pc-1215n-performance.html

Habilis, I saw that one referenced while going through the big 1215n thread.

Looks like the word is its a tad better than the 1215n if you don't overclock, but if you do, you can get the 1215n to beat it for speed/performance.

I am a tech guy by trade, though I fall in the category of capable but lazy LOL.

I know how to overclock, have done it before, but sometimes I just find it easier to not bother....
