    hi all,

how do you like this laptop i'm about to get?

    ASUS L5926DFBH
    AMD Mobile Athlon64(K8) 3000+
    15" TFT (SXGA+IPS)
Nvidia GeForce FX Go 5650 64Mb DDR
    512Mb RAM DDR
    60G HDD
    8xDVD+CD-RW Combo
    Gigabit LAN
    802 11g Wireless LAN
    XP Home

i think it has everything i need.
(i'll use it to code and fool with uml tools)

if i could change something, i'd put a 128 Mb video card.
and also i'd like it to have a single 512 ddr ram thing, but my guess is it comes off with 2*256.

    comments are welcome thanks

Looks pretty good to me !
Agree with you about the graphics card also a shame that its not an ATI 9600/9700 but thats a personal preferance.
You may also be surprised with the memory. ASUS often use a single stick of 512Mb and hopefully the hdd is at least 5200rpm.
Personally I would go for a dvd burner, I find them really usefull and would upgrade to XPpro, but these are personal preferances and may not be necessary for yourself.
Otherwise this will be a pretty quick machine !
    congrats on the purchase

    worth it absolutely
i personaly have the Asus L5800C
    intel pentium P4 2800mhz
    15" tft
    ATI 9000 64ddr sdram
    1024 ddr
    80 gb
    2X dvd-r 1X dvd-rw 8dvd 16cd+r 12cd+rw 32cd
    Gbit lan + 11mbit wireless + 56K modem
my personal ussage it was for beeing mobile wile in conference about
Coding engines and especially the Vidcard becous of
the 3D models i make for games / comurcials and etc.
i both mine in november 2003

and i know asus laptops a lot
the do tend to put in a single 512 in so that is easyer to upgrade to full slot (1024)
the only thing i might add you to way BUY a extra battery
i burn op a battery in two to one hour and thats way low compared to other laptops that have shared video memory

but other than that nice laptop
btw what would be the price you payed for this but becous i am looking for a extra laptop and sell my current one

i could get it for 1580 euros which is about 1900 us dollars.

now i'm kinda confused though cause i thought the model name was L5926DFBH but i guess it's L5826DFBH (8 instead of 9)...
(L59 seems to come out with a P4 cpu, which is not what i want)

    weird..

Anyone, who has this laptop, can give some review?
Mainly I'm intersted in fan noise and heat dissipation. How is this laptop hot and how long it runs on battery?

    Thanx [ :D]
