Looks like its the new m6, which is the z70v here.

    Congrats first of all :D

Any 2.5" Hard drive will fit, and disregard the "M6 series will support 80GB HDD at 5400rpm max.", it's not true.

For the RAM, any would work, but I'd go with a top of the line brand, to go aloong with your top of the line notebook :D Some people swear by Corsair, Kingston, etc. though. Remember, its PC4200 533mhz DDR2 SoDimm RAM

Actually, I think it's just an M6BNe notebook...
so yes, the hard drive information that coriolis decribed is true, but for RAM... you need to buy a PC2700 333MHz stick (a PC3200 400MHz stick would work too)

The other thing to remember is that one of those 256Mb ram modules is located under the keyboard...to remove it will void your warranty....you will only be able to change the one on the underside of the notebook without any issues...Thus with a 1Gb stick you would have 1.25 total....I have used kingmax and GEIL with no issues...just make sure you get the correct speed for your lappie...I think AuroraS is probably right and pc2700 is the ones you want.

    i know about ram - 333MHz cl2,5. i don't want to put 400Mhz with cl3.
i've opend and check the 2nd memory module, but i'm wondering what manufacturer is the best (performance & stability). originaly i've elpida. asus service in Poland put apacer. in workstations i was using spectek, twinmos, geil, sometimes kingston or hyunday. bad feellings about kingmax (still working but spend to much time to make it working properly).

i know about 1st module but i'm wonder how i'll woid waranty - is there any sticker???

    thx

    hdd.
    ok, max 80GB, max 5400rpm,
    segate, wd, ibm other????

    thx people

there are guides available on how to get access to that first module should you still be interested. Its possible that you could take the ram out and if you have prob's replace the orginal before sending it back and hope that they still honour the warranty. As far as I know its only the cpu that has a sticker on it... But Justin will probably be able to tell you about warranty better than me.
I can say that I am using a stick of geil 512 DDR333, without any problems stable as ever in my M6Ne..thus I can recommend them. Likewise have used kingmax in my M2n without issues. Kingston should also be fine.

this is how i've found that forum - first found M6N-Upgrade_and_Replacement_Guide-v1.1.pdf
and then start thinking about upgrading.

i'm not going to sell elpida memory. simply i want to buy another and if i get some problems i've put elpida insted the one i'm going to buy but i dont know is there is any protection in first module (sticker or something that i don't know)

    thx
