hello, i write to ask you for some help

i have an asusS46CB with i7 processor and nvidia GT740, recently the GT740 doesn't show up at all even after a full fresh windows 8.1 installation, and the fan is at full speed at the moment windows is on.
i have tried to install driver from asus web page and nvidia and both return that the hardware is not compatible.

the processor temp is between 40 and 45°c with "core temp"

any one have any idea on the problem and how to solve it pleas ? thank you in advance

sorry for my English, i'm from France.

Hi amino! Where did you get the driver from? And if this is using Optimus, you may need to reinstall the Intel HD graphics driver first, then the NVidia driver.

Your CPU temps look good. :)

i get the driver from asus and nvidia support page
i didn't installed any intel driver, i just let windows do it, maybe the problem came from there, i will try the last intel driver and tel you if the problem is the same.
    thank you

i already moved from 204 to 207 and the problem is always here :( i know there is a fan problem and it should be resolved with the latest bios, but it didn't for me.
i have tried to go back to oldest bios but it is impossible, we can only update.
if any hacked bios existe i'm ok to try it if it can solve my problem, i'm more concerned about the fan than the GT740m since it is not a gaming laptop, i have a machine with a GTX760 for that, thank you

Given the fan behavior and the other troubleshooting you've listed not working, this probably needs serviced. It sounds like the GPU has failed.

Nope, since the primary display adapter is Intel, and Nvidia is simply a slave unit attached to Intel's circuit therefore if dGPU fails your LCD screen will still have display.

i had a N76 with intel and nvidia display, and when the Nvidia failed, i had no display at all
Nvidia GPU fail a lot :( it is not good at all.
but the same happens with laptops with only intel graphics when the processor is soldered, it is not a good solution at all, socket is much better .
    thank you

That could be the mainboard itself, the soldered type is to reduce cost.

You probably can't even obtain the BGA chip you want, so nothing there to solder with.

Sometimes a reflow will revive the board if the problem is chip creep or the solder joints. In the case of a BGA type CPU being bad, though, you would need to replace the board.
