My temperatures(T7200) are (according no NHC):
    - default rpm, no undervolting:
    . CPU: 44/46
    . GPU: 55/60
    - 2400 rpm, undervolt:
    . CPU: 47/48
    . GPU: 55/60
This at the end of 8hs working.

The temps go up and down, so it's better to consider the average temps. over some 5 minutes.
About that ixost, is it blocking any airways ?
If it is, I think it might pose risks to the laptop.

it's just this mat that i've placed my laptop over. it would be exactly how it would be if i were just typing on my desk .. however there's something inbetween that now.

Keep in mind that ambient temperature would also affect readings.

    I think mine is overheating.
usually under ambient temp of about 25C.... i get about 75C when web browsing or office work.
    About 65 at Idle.
And if I used any CPU intensive program for more than 2 min.... it reaches 97C!!! even if the fan is blowing at full speed.
I'm using RMClock to "speedstep" it and undervolt it.... most of the time at 1GHz @ 0.950V..... when cpu is at full speed.... 2GHz @ 1.15V...
I think there's really something wrong... any ideas?

I have an A8Js too and when I play 3D-intensive games, the temp runs around the mid 70's. I've been trying to get to the bottom of this for a while. Does anyone know if this is normal, or if I'm killing my gpu slowly??

If you're getting these temps at idle, then there may be reason to be concerned. Place the notebook on a hard flat surface with good airflow - if you still get temps in the 70s on browsing and low cpu freq (with no AV scan or anything else in background), then there could be a problem with the cooling flow. In an older system, need to probably check and clean fan and vents. In a new system, you should contact Asus or your reseller to discuss options for service and eval.

If, however, you get temps in the 70s only under high stress (like 3D apps or gaming), it is **normal**. Lots of folks seem to be worried about this and continue to ask these temp questions about levels when gaming or stress, but there is absolutely no reason to be. Your gpu is fine.

as long as keeping cpu temperature below 60 will be ok. Make sure to use ur laptop on the hard place rather than ur lap or bed. that will block the vent
