I just bought the 1005Ha in white and the N270 processor is more than enough for what I'm using it for. Just browsing the internet and a couple older games. If you need any tests just link me to them and I'll run them for you. The processor shouldn't matter seeing as all of them at N270 and N280 and from what I read when I was researching them they are pretty similar.

What kind of older games? A couple of years old, maybe more?

Don't expect much from the GMA 950, it's just not designed for challenging games of today. To get a better idea of the performance, take a look at this Xpress 200 vs GMA 950 review. As you can see they use a 6200 GF turbo cache as a reference. Unfortunately the 6200 kills both GPUs and GMA 950 is a distant 3rd. From the article it says you could play some of these games, but all the eye candy will have to be turned off.

Processorwise the Atom is ~ to a P4 2.0 Ghz. Eitherway, you're talking gfx power from around 2000.

    Regards,

    Mike

What's with the tude? Take your riddlin and try not to pee your pants.

Anyhow, I'm not sure what your end goal is, but the Ion will have better performance. The better question would be "Will it make a practical difference?" It might be faster than the 950GMA, but I don't think it will truly satisfy a gamers needs. If you want to game, you're gonna need a bigger boat. You have to remember the CPU is also part of the equation and it may end up holding you back, even if you do get a little more out of the ION.

    Regards,

    Mike

I have the 1008HA which is basically the same as the 1005. It runs everything you listed just fine all at the same time.

    ION is not out yet.

Keep in mind that netbooks are not designed to play games. If you want a budget gaming system, you'd best look at other notebooks with a dedicated GPU.
