    Hey all,

i recently got my g/f one of these netbooks after my old alienware that i let her use finally crapped out. She doesnt do much so thats why i only picked a netbook.

Of course they come with the Win 7 Starter which is just junk, and obviously pretty sluggish on a netbook...even after upgrading the ram to 2gb.

I want to reformat it with XP, but am having some issues. I used nlite to add SP2 and SP3 to my xp cd, as well as the sata driver. I found the info to make a bootable USB and went into the BIOS to set the boot to USB.

The install started going thru that blue screen like normal...but low and behold when i got to the drive listing, the only thing showing...was the USB drive the XP data was on...no hard drive whatsoever. I tried messing around the BIOS options some more, but have failed to find anything to get my hard drive to show up in the format screen...at a loss here and any help is appreciated.

Have you tried setting your SATA setting in the BIOS to compatible mode?
