    hi all
sorry if this is not the right place for this question and sorry about my poor english.
i just purchased a asus f3sv and i have some problem with it's dvd writer.
when put a cd/dvd on it,on first place when it start reading the disk, there is some sound like "ghizh-ghizh"! :) on it (and it is a little annoying!) and again when there is dvd or cd on the drive every 20s there is a short "ghizh" again also when shift forward or backward the movie again there is that sound. lol, thats's better i say:there is a lot of "ghizh" there! :p
i wanna know if it is normal this sound?and if there is a problem, as i bought it one week ago and this sound was there of the first day, they should change it for me or they just should repair it?

    thanks

Whenever I load any CD's it sounds like that too somewhat. I don't think there's actually anything wrong with it. My PS2 makes those kind of sounds occasionally as well when it reads DVDs. I think I know the sound your talking about and I believe its normal :).

anyway ,i was reading the posts, now my big concern is that famous! "deadly crack" :p

That does not sound good. Do you have access to another F3Sv model ? A friends maybe to try ? Can you go to a store that sells that model so's to test how its DVD/CD works/sounds ?

Notebook DVD/CD players always sound a little louder when they access disc's but your "crack" discription is worrisome.
