ok, so i got logitech x-540 speakers, but the g1s only has 1/3 of the jacks needed for the system, i researched and found out that i can use a toslink cable and a mini jack adapter.

could someone please explain how this works and how i set it up?

What you'd normally do is plug everything in like so:

G1S headphone jack -> mini jack adapter -> toslink cable -> optical input on receiver/speakers.

AFAIK the X-540 do not have optical input correct?
