    I use 1680x1050... Anything else just looks bad. LCD's at non-native = not very nice.

    As mentioned, if you don't use WSXGA+ or 1680x1050, then it'll look really bad. It may be a bit hard to get used to but after a while, you won't go back.

    Change the dpi setting to 120 (Large scale). In Vista it works very well and it will make reading alot easier.
    Control Panel--> Personalization
    On the left side colum there is the dpi option, try large scale. It will require a re-start. From there, in IE and Firefox, you can adjust text size. In windows, you can adjust icon size and so on. This worked for me on my G2s.

    Just get used to it... trust me, after you get used to it, you will start to love it then you wont go back. I hated that resolution on a 15.4

    1680x1050. The more screen real estate the better. When I'm at my desk I hook the G1S up to two external monitors for even extra real estate.

    The european G1Ss have have resolution of 1440x900 Pixel.
    I think that's the perfect compromise between 1280x800 and 1680x1050.

    I second changing the DPI setting. That will solve the readability problem almost completely. What remains can be solved by individually increasing font sizes in the applications.
