Is there any compairasons between both of these notebooks? I don't want to go larger, but don't want to pay for an Alienware 15in when it has so many issues.

I have the g1s-b1. How much better is gaming on the g50v with its 9700GT card? I think mine has the T7700 while the new one comes with the T9400 CPU.

9700gt is a essentially an overvolted, overclocked 8600gt on a smaller manufacturing process.
it's a good bit better though, the clocks are much higher (ie unreachable by 86gt).

I'd say its roughly 1.5x better. I've got the G50V-A1 and i can actually game decently at the native res.

There is absolutely no point in getting the G1S unless its SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper.

Or you don't really like the aesthetics of the G50.

This G50 has replaced the G1 series. You will find that the G50 will perform 25%-50% better during gaming and at the same time run cooler than the G1S.

Nono. I HAVE the G1s-B1. I was wondering if it was worth getting the G50 if it was worth upgrading to.
Example: If WoW ran ~30fps with my G1, then the new G50 should be ~50fps? I would use Crysis, but saying I go from 8fps with everything maxed to 10fps wouldn't say much. :)

I'm not sure what kind of fps you're getting on your G1S, but check out these videos for comparison ;)
