Can anyone tell me whats the maximum ram that this laptop can support?

Its an intel pm965 board so im guessing that would be 4gb max even if youve got a 64 bit o/s max ram would only be 4bg right?

edit : research on the internet says santa rosa can support 8gb. Can anyone running 8gb confirm this?

I'm pretty sure you'd need the BIOS to support that (8GB), and I doubt that Asus has/will release a BIOS update that will address that particular issue with the G2 being EOL.

With the current cost of 4GB sticks, and the relative lack of popularity here of the older G2 models, I don't think you're going to find anyone with that particular hardware combination you're looking for.

As an aside, what on earth would you need more than 4GB in a 64b system to run anyway?
