hi everyone, i was originally inclined to get an acer 5920g (best bang-for-buck laptop). however, my dad decided to increase my budget and i'm now looking at getting an asus g2s-a1.

i've read the glowing comments about its display at wuxga 1920x1200, and was wondering if the text/images look blurred/illegible while running it at a lower resolution, say 1024x768 or 1280x720?

It won't look as nice and will probably be blurry since it's not at native resolution(WUXGA).

does that mean that watching DVDs / VCDs will not be as good as on a WSXGA screen?

Dvds llok fine. Text will suffer a lot if you drop the resolution down, it will look fuzzy. I would recommend turning the dpi up not changing the native resolution of the desktop. I have mine set at about 120 dpi and text is a bit bigger, making reading emails and web pages a bit better, and if you need more, most pages allow for increased text size. this display is fantastic, have no fear

thx for the info Information_Mechanic, another question though.. is there anywhere i can purchase an additional battery with a larger capacity? i do bring my laptop to the school lab on several occasions and would appreciate something more than 1-2hr battery life.

    thx once again!
