    Hi,

I'm looking into adding a second hard drive to my asus G50vm-x1 but the asus store has run out of HDD brackets for the g50 line.

I was wondering if anyone knew whether the HDD bracket from the m50 models are compatible and can be be used instead?

    thanks :)

Hi Oaksk, and welcome to the forums :)

I'm almost positive that the M50 HDD brackets won't work on the G50. However, you have you tried to call the Asus estore regarding when they will have the G50 HDD brackets in stock?

Their number is 510-739-3777 (Option 1). Hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-6:00 PM PST, excluding holidays.

I know it's not kosher, but I used a piece of foam to squish the second hard drive into place and then a piece of tin foil connecting one of the screw holes to the computer just so static charge has somewhere to go :D
