I've had my asus g50vm-x1 since September and I'm not into vista's performance as of late. My question is, after I use nlite to integrate my raid driver, do I just use my burned nlite cd to install xp? No need for my original xp cd besides the cd key?

If you got BSOD during the XP disk still trying to load then it's most likely your XP disk is too old and does not have at least SP1 with PCI Express driver.

If you got BSOD after the XP disk is loaded and try to format the hard drive then it's probably the SATA driver is not integrate properly using nLite.

Edit: nevermind, I had not refreshed the thread before posting. :)

    So just to check:

slipstream SATA drivers onto original XP CD, creating ISO image
    burn ISO image to disk
go to BIOS, set SATA mode to "Enhanced"
boot from CD to install Windows.

    Right?

    Try this:

    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UWX15ZQ2

I've uploaded the lan driver on megaupload and i'm pretty sure this has an .exe file.

I unzipped the LAN folder on my other laptop and transferred it to my asus laptop, I ran the setup.exe but it wouldn't run properly. :[

Rather than fully installing Windows again I would search for an easier solution, at least at first. Maybe a different driver version?

You mentioned a driver with no "setup.exe" file, why not use that one, unpack it, then right click on the Wired Ethernet device in device manager, Update driver, Have Disk and point to the place where you unpacked the driver?

I've done that it didn't work eigther, I think I know what I did wrong E.B.E. I believe I slipstreamed my raid drivers wrong. I can't run in enhanced or raid mode or ill get BSOD. Since this happened, should I re install vista and start my process over? Or should I just delete the old partition and try running the iso cd again?

I re-emphasize the red part. You probably forgot to do that, in which case it doesn't matter the SATA drivers are on the CD, Windows won't use them -- since the HDD is still seem by Windows as PATA.

You do not need to install Vista and THEN XP again, you simply need to reinstall Windows XP, and before reinstalling be sure to wipe the partition where it is currently installed.

But SATA Ehanced mode or not -- this has nothing to do with the Ethernet driver. There is another problem at work there.

    1. Went to BIOS set to compatabile mode
    2. used the original xp cd to delete partition
    3. reboot and change bios settings to enhanced mode
    4. run iso cd

If I did this right, I should have a smooth xp install shouldn't I?

Im not sure what I'm doing wrong with nlite, cause my iso cd will get bsod.. The only option I used was integrate drivers

    1. integrate single driver>iastor>make iso image
2.use nero to burn the iso image
Am I doing something wrong in the process?

That was the exact procedure I did, but I still get bsod for some reason. Im able to install xp with my original xp cd though, with no problems at all. I would have to run my bios in compatabile mode though.

This is very odd. Have you tried creating the ISO disk with a slower write speed?

I don't think you need to when you're slipstreaming. Just the SATA driver would do.
