Long time Reader, first post.
I bought an Asus G50vt-x1 from Ebay more than 90 days ago based on info I learned here and it's been a great machine. 30 day warranty on a refurbished machine and it has been excellent.
yesterday the fan stopped completely. I cleaned the fan using compressed air but to no avail. the machine now overheats quick and stars locking up and glitching. I searched the forums and found this: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=385027
but it didn't help me. and I found where people recommend cpu upgrades as viable. specifically the t9600. I use CPUID to monitor temps and the GPU just cooks.. air vents on front bottom are cleaned with compressed air and I always use a zm-nc2000, which I also learned about here and has been excellent.
I need to replace the stock fan with another stock fan and am asking for help in getting order information.

Check to see if the fan connector is loose.
If the connector is intact, it's probably a faulty fan. You can purchase a new fan (and thermal assembly) from the Asus estore here:
