well today when i took it too work with me i booted it up everything was fine than i had to put it too standby about a hour later but than teh system frozed while putting it in on a black screen so i just turn it off and waited till i got home..

so when i got home i push the powerbutton and it went threw the boot well allmost than it got stuck on the check nvram and it took couple times turning it off and on too get rid of it.

so it finally booted and when it booted in windows it booted in my other windows 7 so i was like ?? so i went in my computer and my other hard drive wasint there so i restarted and it wasn't detecting in bios either so after couple more shut downs it showed up in bios but it will not boot with both hdds in it just restarts before it gets too the windows loading bar..

so i tried each hdd in the main hard drive caddy and each one boots fine.

than i tried each one in the 2nd caddy and it took couple restarts before they will boot in that slot but each hdd is slower in the 2nd slot than the main one.

so did the 2nd hard drive controller died??

it was working in this config for like 6 or 7months with no problems.

but every time i try too boot with both hdds in it will not boot or will boot but the 2nd caddy hdd will not be there.

having bad luck the pass couple days my 1201n is acting up and now this today......

would it be possible that the ide seta connector is half off or?

the main hdd caddy works fine but the 2nd caddy wont work when both hdds is in.

and with ony a hdd in that slot it acts slow and takes about 2 times too get it too boot.

im trying too avoid warranty but looks like its the ony way too go at this point...

    still having the problem

    is the ide controller fried?

all it does is trys too boot than before it even loads the hdd before windows bang it restarts than the 2nd bay wont detect the hard drive and its not the hdd sense i tried the other one in there and still the same..

and im wondering should i get a rma on it and how long will it take for them to fix it and send it back?

i would try too get too the ide but not sure were too start and not even sure if a loose ide connector would cause this?

    good news

it finally booted with 2 hard drives fine i just change the ram and found out that it had a reset button even tho it wasn't fixing it till i put the new ram i bought for my netbook in it and so far booted 2 times fine
    but whats weird
is that ram was already in it the first time it happen lol
but i didn't reset it so maybe every time you change something need to push that reset hole
even tho its weird sense it ony effects the hard drive slot 2.. lol
but at least its so far working

glad i didn't have too take it too take it too bestbuy today hopefully it stays like this. dont really trust the techs...

sense i pretty much love the look on the g50vt-x5 and if they had to replace it if they couldn't fix it they problee would've gave me a g51 or g60 which i really likes the looks and the feathers better on the x5 than those like the little lcd panel above the keyboard.

even tho i would've got more power like the 260 vs the 9800 but the 9800 haven't let me down in games at all even new ones. and herd you can upgrade this laptop with the 260gtx if you could find the gpu which is rare but there was on on ebay so they might show up more offen later on.
