First time caller, long time listener. I have found these forums very informative, thanks.

I am considering the purchase of either a w2v or w1v. Does anyone know of a show-room here in Vancouver BC Canada where I can see one up close and personal? I know myself to be a picky person so am hesitant to buy one site-unseen.

Or are there any locals who want to show off their laptop?

Hey StephenB. Welcome to the forum!

I'm not quite sure that many (or any) local stores in Vancouver have the W2v in stock yet... I'm sure that you can order them, but you probably won't be able to see one.

If it were possible, I'd say NCIX would be your best shot... but they probably don't have it right now.

NCIX will never order it in, unless you really buy it. Your best shot is either:
    http://www.frontierpc.com/
    or
    http://www.icicomputer.net/

When I was getting my V6, I first asked FronierPC to get a demo, but they had couple of other Asus demos in store at that time, so they couldn't do it. But ICI did it with no problems and I didn't have to buy it. As to buying I got it from, http://www.ntcw.com/ as they had the best deal (but couldn't order demo either, same as NCIX).

    Hope that helps. ;)

You might not find a dealer here in BC that has a demo showing.

I've emailed and called almost everyone that has an ad for the Asus models and they expect you to buy it if you want them to call it in and demo for you.

Thanks for the feedback. Those are all stores I have called already with regards to this (I've done the rounds). I might try calling again to suggest they bring in a demo.
