    is there only one type of dvd writer for this... cuz i'm doing
    a tradein and its gonna cost me under 50cdn to swap ma combo
    for one with dvd writing capabilities... also can sum1 give
    the write speeds of the models available

    The only one available that I am aware of is the one listed in my sig. I have read that it is a Toshiba drive. I think it is 4x dvd write, 2x dvd rewrite... don't know the rest [ :(]
