Hey there,
I was playing video games on my n56vz-DS71 (GT 650M) when I started noticing some slight tearing and screen flickering. I finished the dungeon I was in (about 10-15 minutes) and the tearing got significantly worse. I figured that there was a quick hotfix in-game that created the error.
I tried tinkering with the game's settings and updated my drivers (there was a new update as of today) and neither worked. I then went on to Battlefield 3 to see if the tearing was game-specific or if it was a graphics card issue. I couldn't run BF3, and when I tried running LoL after there was massive tearing.
Afterwards, I completely uninstalled my nvidia drivers and reinstalled the one from the Asus website, and then tried it, and then updated it all the way and tried it one more time. The same issue occurs.
I went to the nvidia control panel and set it to integrated and there's no tearing (it's just really slow, naturally). So there's a problem with the GT 650M. Anyone know how to fix this? Or is it time to give Asus a call?

As you said maybe it’s time to call Asus. Can you check what the GPU temperature is when you are experienced that problem?

The gpu is running between 74-78 degrees at this point
