Looking at amazon, they only have used x2's compared to new x4's. However the new x4 is slightly cheaper than x2 and I'm wondering why.

The reason I am looking at these models is because of price compared to components and as a photographer hobbyist, was intrigued to find an article(albeit about another model) with a graph of some top LCD's on the market(the n61jv being one of them, but which?)

My guess is they did the same thing as they did to the Dell Studio XPS 16's screen, which at the beginning of my search was held as amazing, until they changed it!

Perhaps I'm looking too far into it, and it's the same panel and something else is driving the cost down?

My son received a N61JV-X2 for Christmas and the LCD is pretty nice IMO for the price point of the laptop. I would think that because the X2 and X4 have the same LCD specs that the LCD's must be the same or very similar. It is my understanding that the LCD's for many laptops do not all come from the same supplier so two laptops of the same model may or may not have the same LCD. FYI my son has been using his NV61JV for a little over two weeks and it has performed very well! He is playing StarCraft II on it right now as I type this reply. Time will tell how durable it is but it seems to be pretty well built.
