I was wondering if its worth it to upgrade the stock HD (5400 rpm 500 gb) to a Momentus XT hybrid drive ?

Amazon.com: Seagate Momentus XT 500 GB 2.5 Inch Solid State Hybrid Drive ST95005620AS: Electronics

Since the 33jc doesn't have an optical drive, I was wondering if I can just put an win 7 ISO file on a USB flash drive and boot from there ? Is there a good tutorial for that someone can point me to..

Also, can I use the serial number that is on the bottom of the PC for the new installation ? I will just install the same version, which is home premium.

    Thanks!

    ^ thanks again :)

I would love to get a SSD but they are out of my price range.. maybe I should just wait for the 256 to become cheaper and then switch.. But I am afraid that after a while, when my 5400 rpm fills up a bit, it will get really slow

I read about a utility to back up your win 7 activation before installing the new drive, I will do some research and post it up also. It allow you to install the new drive, and 'copy' the activation on the new one. It was the the OS and Software forum here.
I hear that, prices are high, my mom bought my laptop for Xmas or I would not have one! Glad to help
