    HI

I bought a zenbook ux31a a few years back and I recently had the LCD screen die out on me

after browing ebay for some replacements, I noticed that they also sold the ux31a with a touchscreen

I was wondering if it is possible to swap out the dead non touchscreen for a touchscreen. do they use the same cable? is it possible?

    thanks

It could be a different connection. You can figure that out by using HWiNFO64 or referring to the part number sticker on the back of the LCD screen itself; look up info on that screen on www.panelook.com, and refer to the connection type there.

Then look up the specifics on the panel you're considering to see whether it's the same connection or not (typically it's going to be either LVDS or eDP). If the connection is the same, you can use the same cable.
