i got the laptop from woot as a refurb unit. it's out of warranty. i searched online, and went to asus customer service about 4 times. nothing has helped so far.

    I've tried:

    hard reset the computer
    reset the BIOS settings
reinstall battery drivers (there were three, and I couldn't uninstall "composite battery," maybe because I couldn't remove the battery)
let it run down from 98% to now 95%, and still not charging
    switched chargers.

I noticed that the power plug can wiggle pretty good in the laptop. not sure if it's a defect or just the plastic giving.

but any help would be appreciated.

Let it run down more, I think most units trigger at 92%, you can run it down a little under 90% just for testing purposes.

ah yes. it's at 78% and it started charging.. Thanks!

i guess i should do a discharge cycle and let the battery drain every month or so. i think the battery life is already suffering
