Hi I recently did a fresh install of windows 8 after I had swapped out the hard drive for a samsung 830 solid state disk. I am trying to install all the drivers and in particular I am unable to properly install the touchpad driver. I keep receiving this error (Please see attached). Has anyone had this trouble and has found a solution? Greatly appreciate it. Untitled.jpg

Try running the Add New Hardware wizard, or update it manually from the Device Manager, and then have it navigate to the folder that you downloaded. It looks like it's looking for a duplicate CAB file (see the "(2)"?), which may be why it's not installing properly.

Let us know if you manage to get it using the method I suggested. :)

Maybe your download is corrupted. Have you tried re-downloading it? Also the location of the folder is weird: why in temp folder and why it is looking for a file in the zipped archive? Try download the driver somewhere in your home directory and extract it first (if you haven't done it this way).

I see you're using Chrome, as well. If you do download again, use Internet Explorer - or try Firefox (IE is less likely to reproduce the same problem).

By the way, did your laptop come with Windows 8 or Windows 7? May I know what medium did you use for a fresh install. I am just wondering if it is possible to do a fresh install using a recovery disk made from Windows 8 installation or from Asus backup utility application? Or, I have to have a generic Windows 8 disk for a fresh install. Mine has come with Windows 8 and I don't want to pay to buy one when my laptop is already entitled to a Windows 8 system for free.
