    Hi all,

I've got 2 questions concerning the Asus backlit keyboards:

    1) Which models (other than the ul20a & U80v) have this function?

    2) How well do they work? Is this a full lit keyboard? I read somewhere that the letters don't get lit, only the keys. I'm trying to figure out what that means.

    Thanks!!

    Ken

on the G51, and presumably the g72 as well, little white lights (LED?) illuminate the letters on the key, which normally appear opaque. If you see a picture of a G51 keyboard, everything painted white on the keyboard lights up. I think it works well when typing in the dark, and the adjustable brightness settings are a plus

The back lighting works perfectly. It was one of the features that sold me on my g51. It has 3 brightness settings and completely off. Honestly I don't think I will be getting any new laptop without it again.

I agree with this, having the backlit keyboard is nice.

I think you mean the U20a-B2 for the keyboard. The UL20A-a1 seems to have a non backlit keyboard..........

The description that Amason gives for the U20A is identical for the U80v-b2. Is it possible that the U80v-b2 does not have a 3 setting illuminated keyboard? hmmmm......
