The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. It can be done, but it's quite time consuming.... there isn't an easy access door to do the install... basically the motherboard has to come out of the unit and that means that basically every screen that holds the system together (inside and out) need to be removed. It's a time consuming process, especially the first time..... and as an end user, you are going to be more carefull because you're going to be afraid of breaking parts and forgetting where things go.... On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the most difficult, dangerous and just plain time consuming that you could be with your notebook.... this would be about an 8.
Z63a is really hard to disassemble. We charge a premium for the service. Takes 50 minutes or so round trip and thats if you already done it a few times. I would advise against user upgrade of bt module as well
