i used the search function and found a few threads but still didn't really understand... so need some explanation.

the included bluetooth stack is the toshiba one..and i've tried installing it..then at a certain point, it asked me to plug in my bluetooth device..so i turned my bluetooth on in my cellphone. BUT the setup just sat at 56% for over half an hr.... so what's up with that?

also, i read that there's MS BT stack? what's that? that came with windows SP2? do i have to do anything with it???

You should be able to install the toshiba stack without a problem... if you're running into one, call Asus. The setup isn't asking you to turn on bluetooth on your cell phone or something like that.. it's asking for the bt on your computer to be turned on or installed... it's built onto the motherboard and you shouldn't need to turn it on during that install.

I've had similar problem with my W2V. It originally came with a German OS so I formatted and tried to install an English version. Anyway the Bluetooth stack was probably the thing I had the most problems with. In the end I found if you just uninstall any components that my have been installed when it hung and try again it should work. For me it took about 3 or 4 attempts before the whole thing worked the way it was supposed to.

One of the other options as you mentioned is to just use the MS version that comes with SP2. It should just autodetect and set itself up once you've installed SP2 as long as you don't already have the Toshiba one on there. If you do you'll have to uninstall or disable it first I think? But I've heard it doesn't have vary many features.

Check to make sure that you've pushed the button on the right side of the keyboard to turn ON the bluetooth radio; the little blue light will come on just above the F1 key when you've turned it on. I had the same problem until I realized that the installer wouldn't find the bluetooth device until I turned it on.

yup... on the right side, i pressed the second side button turning on the bluetooth. To know whether your bluetooth is on or not, see if a blue light is showing at the top left hand corner.
after turning bluetooth on, ur setup will go SUPER FAST ..well at least for mine, it didn't take 15min....more like 15 seconds @_@

ok, sorry to bring this post back to life but im having serious issues with my bluetooth on my W3V. Ive had it for quite some time, loaded the bluetooth first time no problems but never was able to connect to another person's compiuter so I thought something was up.

I uninstalled the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack Program and tried to install the new version. That crashed on me, every time it would freeze as the progress bar showed 5 spaces lit up. I would repeat to no avail.

Finally today i tried to use the origonal drives included on the W3v driver disc. So now i've got a working "USB Bluetooth Drive (CSR)" but after I got that up and running, windows says that its found a new piece of hardware called "Toshiba RFBUS Driver" that it needs to install. THe problem is that it can't find that driver for it.

This didn't happen the first time I tried to install the bluetooth stuff, what the heck is going on? thanks f
    or any help
