I'm planning on getting the asus z71v. although, I am planning on playing games and most likely not in the native res of (1680x1050) WSXGA due to the fact that I play most in 1024x768 or 1280x1024...i know a Geforce 6600 is a decent card but probably wont play newer games in that high of a res...does anyone have any experience with gaming using a lower, non-native res on this or other laptops? how does it look i.e. fuzzy, blurry, etc....or any general comments or advice would be greatly appreciated
    -thanks

It's not that it's really fuzzy or blurrly... but it's not as sharp as it is on a native screen....... this has been mentioned over and over and over again in this forum. You're best to go with what you'll need 80% of the time.... If that means a higher res and having to lower the res for games, so be it...... you'll be happier with it than if you got an XGA or WXGA just for the few games you'll be playing.

    Thanks,

No problem.... I don't think many people who want/need a WSXGA+ screen care if those games don't look perfect........ but it's a small difference but you've got a must better monitor for the future and for other things.

    Thanks,
