    Hi !

Mostly i read thru the forums that arctic silver 5 is applied on the c90 CPU's. However, im not reading much on cooling methods for the GPU....

Is it advisable to put AS5 on the c90 GPU as well ? Is it worth the temp decrease ( if there would be any... ) Anybody tried it successfully ? Any link where i could try this ?

I read forerunner's GPU is hitting only high 70'C for the GPU... mine easily hits 98-100 on 3dmark runs. ( This is why im a little worried about my GPU... )

    Thanks for your help.

Well mine is 68-70 idle depending on the room temperature. During gaming the gpu maxes out at about 79. Yeah artic silver can be used on the gpu but use adequate proportions (too much is bad) and make sure to do it neatly. My new c90 does have its fans on more hence the lower idle temp. I haven't even checked the inside to see if anything is different compared to my old c90.

Yeah I'd be interested in hearing about gpu TIM used. AS5 fits/spreads fine between the GPU core and initial HS. However, the tolerance between the initial HS and the heat transfer pipe plate is a bit loose, I'm assuming that's why they went for the thicker pad style and not a paste/cream form.

Anyone using AS5 or similar in lieu of the pad? Better? I read one post saying his temp was better with the pad.

Oh btw my c90 came in today and is built but awaiting the brain tomorrow! Abbey Normal perhaps ?

I think they all use pad now, there is even one on the C2D's stock FAN & the C90S is "dry approved by Intel"
