Hi
I am a tech from a local pc store called iNet computers in waukesha, wi. We recently built a c90 system for a customer, specs as follows:
E6700 core 2 duo
2 gb (2x1GB) pc5300 supertallent sodimm
80gb WD HDD (small ... dunno why)
8600GT
Intel Pro wirekess a/g/n
Customer takes the laptop home last night, comes back today... says it will not boot into windows and it freezes in windows when you unplug the AC adapter. Well... low and behold he brings it in and it does just that. We were able to get it to boot into windows on battery alone for two hours straight.. .customer takes it home.. comes back 20 min later saying it's not booting on battery. From reading this forums, i read that it might be an issue with the brand of ram... is this true or what.. cause obviouslly the customer is none too happy. And if so... what ram should we order? I need to know this by at least tuesday... any info would be great!

if you search thru these forums, 80-90% of c90's not booting in battery power is due to incompatible RAM. There are even some cases where the RAM works for a couple of days, and then it suddenly stops to work... ( find viciousxusmc post ). Search thru the ASUS website for the list of compatible RAM for the c90. Although its still not 100% guaranteed.

I'm using 2x1GB Corsair value DDR2 667 and no problems here. (and they are pretty cheap in those times, like $25/GB )
Have you updated the bios to V801? It could fix it, I think
Asus only lists Kingston and a unknown brand as compatible though. I thnk Ken evend said 1GB kingston 533 does not work anymore. -
