in general ive heard that a hard drive of 5400 rpm generates less heat than a 7200rpm. my question is that, is it a neglible amount of heat or should i seriously consider getting a 5400 rpm hardrive because ive also heard that the c90 does get really hot really fast? thanks.

Id get 5400 only because it offerers bigger drives. a 250gb 5400rpm drive is comparible in performance to a 160gb 7200rpm hard drive, all the while being cheaper and producing less heat.
The new 7200rpm drives are not really that hot tho, so its not a big issue. -
thanks. where did you buy your c90 from if you dont mind me asking?

I don't know if this is norma on my c90s but... my HDD will stop heating at 50-55, like every notebook I've seen but the region near the touchpas (over the HDD) gets REALLY hot after 2-3 hours. It's as hot as the fans in the back in fact...
I'm using a Seagate 160GB 5400.4 -

Nope for me, I bought it from directcanada.com due to duties & exchange rate being pretty low in mid-september (.94)
