...what? This is not good....does that mean that they're going to make the c90p mxm II along with a mxm II 8700..or are they going to not allow the c90p with a 8800m GTS or something because of heat issues...

    ...I'd ba happy with a 8700GT 512MB DDR3 (or 9600GT 512MB DDR3).

But no where does it talk about 9 series support or ati support. The 3650 could be quite a contender if it released for the C90 and the 9600gt is rumored to be an 8800 die shrink so we may yet see past 8700gt performance.

I hope that the card in the c90p is compatible with the c90s.

With Asus's strong warranty I think they are basically not touching the 8800 because of the potential for heating issues. An asus rep did say that there is an upcoming asus notebook with a 9600 (I dont know if it was GT or GS) that is being approved but will only be available in Europe and taiwan.

    The 8800 are MXM-III & IV.

I still think the 9650M GT is possible in it. The reason why it said 8700 is because when the notebook was annoucned, the 9600M wasn't announced.

The C90S supposedly came with a 7700 at the beggining

would the 8700 be able to play crysis on med?
it would be nice if 8800 would be compatible w/ the c90p

    no more "8800 in C90" threads/posts please...the 8800gtx WILL NEVER WORK in a C90. The 9 series equivalent *might*.

Be that as it may, the 8700 is a decent card and it is certainly capable of crysis if the 8600gt can do it. But seriously for good crysis performance you might be better served looking elsewhere. You need deep pockets to be able to do it and asus doesn't have ultra high end notebooks. One can only hope that the 9 series makes its way onto the C90 besides a 9500gs (we already have the 8600gt! and we had a ddr3 version for a while!). Actually the 8700gt as it is is just a better 8600gt, asus is just kinda lazy and slow with updates. I think we'd have better luck hoping someone else makes an mxm-II card.

It's not that they are really slow, it's there are no other MXM-II cards now >_>

I'm thinking the 8700M GT in the C90P is just as the 7700 in the C90S and that we'll have the mobile version of the 9600GT this summer.
