I've been having horrible problems with the 90W power adapter that comes standard with the c90s, so I recently ordered the 120W adapter. My laptop sat there like a brick for about five days and the new adapter finally arrived today. Unfortunately, my laptop is still sitting there like a brick...
I took out the battery and plugged in the new adapter, and all the lights came on--power, wireless, hard drive activity. This was without pushing the power button. There is no actual activity going on in the notebook, no fans, no real hard drive activity, and nothing on the screen. Pushing the power button for a click does nothing; pushing and holding it in does nothing. I replaced the battery and the battery charge light came on as well. Power button still does nothing. I called up Asus and "reset the hardware" via the paperclip-size hole in the bottom...still no joy. While I was on the phone with the Asus rep I noticed the area around the cpu on the bottom was getting pretty hot. At this point I unplugged it and took out the battery to avoid possible further damage.

Is this just one of those situations where I have to RMA it back to ibuypower? Or is there a different solution? Could it be the ram, the cpu acting up? Please advise as I have never encountered this kind of problem before.

That doesn't sound very good at all.. Did you upgrade/change any settings in the bios? I would try removing and reinstalling the ram and graphics card and see if that does anything.

If it doesn't help and you need to RMA the unit you can do it directly through Asus. They might give you a hard time but just tell them your reseller said to RMA it through them. That way you won't have to deal with the any middle men and should have your notebook back within 7 days or so.

Try resetting the RAM, HDD, GPU and CPU. That can happen if either one of those components are not properly set in the system board.

Thanks for the advice, I'll try taking out and replacing everything tomorrow morning (not to mention backing up that hard drive when I take it out) and update the thread with my success or failure.

Welcome to the club : / I've had to RMA my C90S 3 times so far, but to be fair one of them was sort of my fault.
