    Hi,

I have been experiencing an issue the last two days playing Fifa 2008, after a while the screen would go black, the sound and everythign was still there and as soon as I pressed a key it would come back.

At the moment this only seems to be happening on the Gaming mode

I did some looking into peoples gpu temps, seems high 90's was what a lot of people were getting under load.

So I installed Riva Tuner, and its telling me that after less then 20 or 30min gaming my temps are hitting over a 100 and up toward 110 in some cases.

Does this seem too high? Seems like my gpu is over heating, would this likely be a faulty card or maybe just remounting gpu cooler with some decent thermo paste?

    Regards
    Sam

Sounds very similar to some of the early issues I had with my 8600gt gddr3. A cooling pad and or mod at your own risk will probably bring you back to the cooler side of the C90.

so its an issue with gpu memory?? Is it an actual fault with the card? Would it covered under warrenty.

Its interesting too me that you say some of 'your early isses' you had.

I have been having all kinds of probelms with my wireless card aswell. They have agreed to replace the card but told me that the date I purchased my laptop was when all the problem laptops they had were sorted out.

I am wondering if I recieved one of the older model machines and hence experiencing these issues.

I didn't say memory but the GPU itself. Often memory issues will be apparent via artifacts in the rendering and not a sys lock up.

"Its interesting too me that you say some of 'your early issues' you had."

Yes I modded the lower panel and use a cooling pad, violla not more high temps.

Other than that, I'd say use the search option, there's been plenty of posts about this already.

I just waited 2 months and my high temps disapeared

You shouldn't worry if it does not hit over 100
