The motherboard is the F3KA-X2. Laptops do not have upgradeable motherboards, and they are proprietary to the specific model. Occasionally, a company will release a new revision to add additional support to future models, but that's about it.
As for the CPU, a change should be possible, but ASUS may try to give you a hard time if you ever need warranty repairs. I would suggest contacting ASUS directly and requesting a service manual. -
ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
CPU upgrades instantly void your warranty - you have to break a seal to get it out. CPU upgrades also depend on BIOS support for the new chip, assuming that it fits into the MBoard socket. Asus is not in the habit of providing assembly manuals to the public; if it's not online, a dealer would have to give it to you.
Motherboards are designed to fit within the specific chassis size, and are not usually limited to a single model but will stay within the same series (i.e. F3, A8, V2, etc) - they're not interchangeable like desktop systems. -
I'm not saying you should or should not do this, but I have an upgraded CPU - done by my retailer - and there was no problem when I had to RMA it for a video card problem...

@Nrbelex:
But in that case, your reseller did the upgrade, not you. When you RMA'd the system for the video card, did it go back to ASUS or back to the reseller? -

can it be changed??
