    I oc 260m to core 600mhz, shader 1500mhz, memory 960mhz

When I try to run 3dmark 06, the program encounter a problem: IDirect3DDevice9: :present failed: Device lost(D3DERR_DEVICELOST)

any idea how to fix this problem?

Answer: Don't overclock that far. Your GPU seems to be very limited in its OCing threshold.

don't think it's like that. I run furmark with that speed with no AA, 1920x1080, extreme burn mode for around 10min, and the system is stable.

furmark is not a game. they are completely different. Furmark is a temperature stress test. I Can run furmark all day at 630/1045/1650 but I can't get past the first 30 seconds of 3dmark06 because the GPU can't handle it in-game.

The error you are experiencing is common when your GPU is overclocked too much and becomes unstable. Bring the settings down a notch as EIement suggest and you should be fine.

yeah, your right. I can feel that the video card is unstable while playing mass effect.

Not every GPU can be OC'd at the same clocks and be completely stable, some can handle higher clocks easily while others crash and burn when raising them a bit.
Think of them as snowflakes while they do all look alike some are different.
3DMARK06 is useful but I would not worry if my laptop could not run it, as long as the GPU is stable and the temps are kept under control I say game on.

3DMark isn't a bad stability test. If you can complete a full test with good temperatures and without crashing, you've pretty much got stable clocks.

That's assuming someone who knows what they're looking for... you can pass 3Dmarks without crashing but get artifacting shaders or artifacting memory the entire time.
