I just received the Asus Z70V and want to move the miniPCI wireless module from my old notebook to the new Z70V. But I have difficulties now:

After remove the 2 screws marked "K" on the bottom, I can lift the keyboard, then I see the wireless slot at up-left coner, covered by a black gasket with holes, however, I can't pull out this cover. I am afraid to damage the lovely baby if I pull too hard.

Anyone can help me out? (The dealer is not working on weekends[ :(], and I can't wait) Much much thanks.

you want to basically use a screw drive and pry up on the left and right side and that will pop up and you'll get access to that final screw. You won't break anything, that's just the way it has to be done.

    Thanks,

    hey gharv!

You go to Western eh? Where did you get your Z70V from?

(I'm a recently graduates McMaster student, Canadian dealers carrying the Z70V would be nice information)

hey man...i dunno if im "allowed" to help you, but since im not one of those school pride fools...whatever

I actually dont have it yet but im in the process of talking with a guy from ncix.com in the sales department and hes arranging a nice custom setup

Its not listed on their site under notebooks but if you search for z70v youll find it, and at a reasonable price...oh ya and i pricematched their kingston ddr2 512mbs to 88.99 from frontierpc.com

    cheers

    Go Ryerson!!

    *ahem*

Anyways [8D], there's no other dealers with the z70v yet, PNotebooks aren't answering my emails, haven't tried pccom yet. Seems only NCIX and CanadaSys and a store in Alberta(The name escapes me..) has it..

    hey gharv,

I must've forgotten the rules of conduct there in my excitement over seeing someone else from southern Ontario [ :D]

I was originally planning on getting my notebook from NCIX, but they've been taking too long and don't ever get back to me, so, what can you do.

CanadaSys may not be a ways out for you, and they have fantastic prices:

    Western's not a bad school, I've been there a few times :)
