do you think i'd be sorry choosing the Z33 over the W5 even tho the W5 offers a lot more. i would basically make this decision based on weight. the
Z33 is about a lb lighter. also i really dont need a web-cam or a dvd rw or 100 gigs or hd. also, i thin the screen on the Z33 is better for documents which is what i would need it for primarily. does anyone have either model?

Unless weight is a huge issue for you, I see no reason why you would buy the Z33.

The Z33 is a great machine for people who want a matte screen ultra portable...
If you really do prefer the matte screen and you don't need what the W5 offers, I see no reason why you wouldn't go with the Z33...

weight is the main issue. i really need something light but sustantial. i would definitely go for the w3J also but its a little too heavy.

There is one thing i dont like about the w5f. The price and the screen. I cant stand the 12" wide screen. I rather go for 12" xga then wide. It just looks weird when you open it. Also z35f will be comming out "shortly"

    thanks,

thats actually very helpful since i'll be using it mostly for writing. the price is really the same for both if i configure the z33 the way i want it.
is the z35f also a 12"? is there more info on it?

the z35f is a core duo with a 13.3" wxga screen. Its not out yet and it maybee a couple months before. Right now i have a z35a (not core duo) for review you will find the pics and a short review here. Was hoping for a dual core but it came in with an old chipset.

The z35f when it comes out will be
    12.4 x 8.9 x 1.35 Inches (wxdxh)
It will weight @ about 4.1lbs
This is based on the dimmensions supplied by asus as well as my own measurements on the z35a which i have now. The z35f when it comes will be about the same as the chassis does not change. The only thing changing physically is the chipset and hopefully color. Entry price will be about $1000 US with a dual core pm.

Asus website states the w6a is 4.1lbs. I belive that is accurate because there is no traveler drawer and its a pretty compact notebook. Much sleeker then the z62f which i belive is 5.5?
