I am so ticked! I placed my order with them on Sunday. Order didn't ship, and nobody called me. It stayed in processing. I call them today. THey didn't ship because they wanted to verify the order with me. So they do, then they say, its in stock but will take a few days for them to get it, then it will ship. WTF!!!!!! That doesn't sound like its in stock does it???!! So now I'm back to the waiting game. Anybody know of someplace that can be trusted that has it in stock?
    I ordered the Asus G1s-B1.

Btw, does anybody here have this laptop already?

Just be patient. Some people have to wait 2 months (Alienware) to get their notebooks. I had to wait a week and a half and I wasn't having my machine delivered to me, I was doing a pickup.

Why are you so upset? Did they promise same day or next day shipping on the item? Unless it is in writing, it is your own fault for not finding out. A big site like that doesn't have someone just sitting around on a sunday none the less to personally ship your order. It takes a bit. You think they are bad... they are one of the highest rated sites on the net to buy from.... try going with a less known site and see how they treat you. Now, if you ordered it over a week ago and have the same story, I would be on your side.

it is nothing compared to how long you have to wait for a dell. though for a dell you would need time to customize unless you do express buy. the only problem i have with zipzoomfly is their website, very hard to navigate and find stuff.

I'm pretty sure that ZZF drop-ships all of their Asus notebooks from the distributors, and doesn't physically have any in their warehouse - that's the reason for the several days delay before shipment, they have to confirm with the disti that there is stock available first, and then they invoice purchase it from the disti for direct shipment to the purchaser :).

Eddie at BTOTech.com lists the -B1 model on his site, and he actually ships direct from stock on hand.

Why am I ticked? Its not that I ordered it on an "out of stock" item, but "In stock". Then they tell me they are waiting to get it "in stock" but yet the "in stock" on their website is correct? Does that make sense? That's why I'm mad.

clearskies- ok, I wish they said said that before my order. BTOTech.com...checked. I cant seem to find the G1s-B1. I see all the other new models.

einhander- See my sig. I'm no stranger for the "waiting" game. I just don't like it when a company says its in stock but it isn't really , really in stock.

Why not order the G1S-A1 and replace the HDD with a Hitachi 7K200? You'll basically have a G1S-B1 but running at 2.2Ghz instead of 2.4Ghz, an extra 160GB sata drive for backups, and you can take advantage of the $80 rebate from Asus.

*crossing fingers* besides hoping it'll a week, I really dont want to open this laptop. I already did that with my Dells and prety tired of doing that. I'd rather just wait for it. I may NEED the laptop now being I sold my G1 already, but the person agreed to let me use it for a week more. So... crossing my fingers still.
I would even order the C90s, which to me looks way nicer, but still getting way to many mixed responses about it being stable or that it is stable but required work to get it to that point.

This is why you order from sites like Newegg.com or excaliberpc.com (which even called me about my order..)

fact is alot of the sites people know about here are drop shippers. That is probably where we are headed as well. consumer demand is for lowest price. other factors do not come into the equasion when a brand becomes increasingly popular. asus is a good example

newegg is wher I order from, but they didnt have it yet. And zipzoom, where I ordered in the past was good to me too. But they were bad this time.

geared2play- when do you exspect yours to come in? g1s-b1? I didn't see it earlier this morning. Also, since this comes with the no dead pixel warrenty and such that asus is offering. I dont need the $99 for that "fature" since its a given, right? And the vid card with the unit is the ddr3 version? Sorry for teh questions, but yours says ensemble so I dont know if thats any different than a regular g1s-b1?

update: oh its there now. If I was to order it today, how quickly do you ship to Hawaii? cna I pay the $119 and get it before thursday?

I just called btotech.com (well aimed. lol) and its in stock. I'll see if I can order it next day, they said I should get it by friday if I do a rush.
And besides that term "ensemble" which is throwing me off, they said its the real deal g1s-b1.

update: Supposedly I got the last one. :crossing fingers: again and hoping I get it.

I had the same issue with them when I ordered an Asus F9J-A1. Ordered it on Wed., missed their call that night to confirm the charge, called them back Thurs. and they said all is well, but then got a call the following Mon. that the item was actually discontinued and were "trying" to remove the listing from their website. They were nice and apologetic about it though and did call and email me about the problem. Also informed me that they'll be getting the newer replacement model, the F9S-B1, sometime in mid-Oct. But in any case, I found the AMD model over at newegg, cheaper than even zzf and it shipped out the very next day, go newegg! :D

But this is part of the reason to get something like an Asus Ensemble, so you don't have to wait for it. If its in stock and you're not changing anything then it should be out pretty quickly. The horror stories of the current waits for Dells and Lenovos certainly influenced my decision to go Asus.

Yup. I loved my Dells, if I got it working when I got it. When getting my 8600 model from Dell, it took them 3+ laptops before I got one that worked. But once I did get one, it never failed. Quality issue aside, I liiked Dell.
And if Apple had MS keys, I would've bought the Apple. :)
