    Sweet!! :notworthy:

Looks like ASUS had a bigger booth this year?

I see the T101H in your album, did you use it at all by chance? I'm quite curious about the new tablet eee's.

its not my album, its asus's official myspace site. haha.. but a buddy of mine did get me into ces, and i went by their booth. played with the t91 and t101. the 1000he, the vx5 was pretty cool, talked to some of the concept designers, saw the eee keyboard. that dual touch pad screen is not part of the vx5. it was using a m50 chassis. but they said it could virtually work off any chassis. its just a prototype. but its basically 2 computers in 1. you can use the secondary to save batt life, or use it for a mini 2nd screen.

played with the eee top, its pretty nice. saw their p6t boards, saw a big ROG desktop. saw the bamboo notebooks, VERY NICE. and thats all i had interest for... no new gaming notebooks, but they have a w90 which is i think a 18.6 inch? HUGE. but very slick. ill try and post more pics, but there are so many, can someone else post.. hahaha

btw i also saw lenovo's dual screen (its realllly thick but a cool concept), samsung, fujitsu, toshiba's booth had a 3dTV, no glasses needed. a giant touch screen tv, i played with microsoft surface, and samsung had a very very thin LCD tv. if you want me to talk in more detail of any of these items, ask and i shall tell. i just dont want to write a book on it. haha

Radiating desire and evoking envy with just a look, the ASUS-Lamborghini VX5 notebook is designed to deliver not only the notion of the Lamborghini spirit, but also advanced technological innovation and practicality. By utilizing exceptional materials and details to make the notebook look, feel and run like a supercar, the VX5 transports the user to a realm where power, speed, strength and beauty all complement each other perfectly. The breathtaking design starts with a LCD cover designed to remind users of the Lamborghini’s aluminum alloy fuselage; while its piano painted mirror surface is reminiscent of an automobile’s finish. Upon opening the notebook, users are immediately drawn to the glare-type LCD display; and a subtle LED backlit lighting provides an appealing aura for both the keypad and touchpad that just exudes stylish computing. To complete the Lamborghini experience, the exclusive luxurious feel of the genuine leather bound palm rest area provides the sensation akin to a car interior – perfectly capturing the Lamborghini luxury in a fresh tactile manner. With speakers designed to look like its on-road cousin’s air-intakes and a sapphire crystal camera surface that is almost as hard as a diamond for protection against scratches, the VX5 is truly an extreme and spectacular expression of ASUS and the Lamborghini spirit.

Oh. My. God. Blue backlit keyboard.

    Seeya 1640.

EDIT: Is that a fingerprint reader on the left?

Hmmm.... the Lambo series have always used titanium alloy as the chassis; but i guess aluminum would work too.
The blue backlit keyboard would be the highlight for me. I'm a sucker for backlit keyboards :p

I think that's the media center thingy that's on some other models... model #s which I cannot remember at the moment. I think it's back/forward/play/pause etc. Like a media center remote or sumthinz?

Edit: CHICKLET KEYS!! IT'S A CURSE!!

Edit 2: If you go fullscreen to like 1:27 on this video and pause it, that's about the best view I've been able to find of the left hand side

Well guys i think i figured out the the VX5 GPU it will be an nvidia GT 130m which is very close to a 9700 GT but from what i can gather up it is a 9650m GT DDR3 which i still very good/respectable i would have loved to see this notebook with this much power have a 9800 or 4850 GPU the quadcore with a good GPU could have done some serious damage still a decent notebook though :D

finally the Lamborghini range of Asus notebooks will actually have something decent the Asus Ferrari will always be whooping that butt this is the first one that seems too pack a punch

hehe thanks but here is where it gets exciting! :D

"In conjunction with the Nvidia 9100M G integrated graphics, the GT 130M supports Hybrid-SLI (only HybridPower). HybridPower is a technique to choose between the integrated and dedicated graphics core, if performance or battery runtime is needed. This works only in Windows Vista. Up to now the user has to use a tool to switch between the GPUs. Later Nvidia wants to switch automatically in the drivers. GeForceBoost is not supported with this card, as there would be no performance gain."

so this will have another integrated GPU for better battery life :D

Wow, that's a sweet feature that's on the N10J, having that option on a *real* notebook would be super pwnies. I wonder if they will ever get around to making it so that you don't have to reboot though. That's my one gripe.

they will probably a driver update or so

im interested in seeing the battery life on this baby using the 9100.....it could be best in calss(maybe) for 16" but then that quad probably eats power like no tomorrow.

    17% increase for a 9600M GT.... Hmm

If they referring to a GDDR3 9600M, then the GT 130M could realistically expect about 6200 in 3D06...

    :) Hello new notebook

but asus will price this thing smartly as all the recent high end notebooks had great pricing.

$4200AUD is about $2750 USD. I have a feeling it will cost more than that for the US market. This means it's going to cost even more in Aussie :(

In the US, the prices for the lambo series are:
    VX1: ~$2800 USD
    VX2: ~$3500 USD
    VX3: ~$3100 USD

I'm just hoping the QC edition won't go over AUD5000.

    @Red_Dragon, does it really?

@David, I had a AUD5000 budget for my laptop back when exchange rates where almost 1:1 with USD. Now the recession comes and everything changes.

Ah, I see... yeah, exchange rates can be a drag.
Yup, I remember that all Asus Lambo notebooks have that engine revving sound upon booting. It's the equivalent to the explosion sound on the G series. :)

Yeah, that's awesome how the Lambo symbol replaces the Vista one.

I read that Asus only made 200 VX2s, is that going to be the same with the VX5

I think it's too early to tell. The VX5 in CES was a pre-production model and at that time, the full specs were not even confirmed.

I'll try and dig some additional info from my Asus sources :)

    Thanks.

I found a VX3 for sale here in Australia only $3200. That gives me hope that the VX5 won't be a direct exchange between USD ans AUD, but rather moderately priced between $3000 and $4000.
