Its the same as any laptop doing a clean install is easy and their shouldnt be any issues. as long as you have the correct drivers.

    Not necessarily.

If you go over to the sony forum you will be amazed at the number of people who have had / still have trouble with their laptop because they did a clean OS install. I think sony even supplied the wrong audo driver on their cd for the FE series! And with the sz models, some features are lost on a clean OS install.

I was just wondering if there were any issues like that with the A6 series? Im guessing by the lack of topics on this its a problem free area which is a good thing.

Thats why i added its not prob as long as you have the correct drivers. :) asus drivers normaly work fine. its only when people to other places to get maybe newer drivers that asus hasnt released yet that they will have issues. so as long as someone has proper drivers their will be no issues.

i did a clean install and have no problems. when u install, make sure to delete the partitions and recreate them a few times just to make sure u completely delete the cached recovery files because i only deleted it once and after the install, it would prompt me for xp home or pro.

you should not lose the cd feature, i think it is hardware based because i dont remember installing any drivers related to it and it works

You don't need to format the drive a few times. During the installation, you have 2 options to format a HD, 1st is quick format, 2nd is full format. We will not choose the full format because of the long time process. Just choose the quick format and follow all the windows' instruction to finish all the installation.
