hey I got a w3v today in the mail but i am unable to connect to the internet. I dont have wireless in my house and i just plugged an ethernet cable from my cable modem to the w3v. BUT the light on the modem that indicates a connection to the machine doesnt go on. this leads me to believe its a problem with 1 of 2 things 1) the ethernet cable isnt good enough or something 2) the ethernet port in the w3v is broken. I am hoping that theory number 1 is correct, but i didnt really think there was more than 1 kind of cable. it works for my PC and my girlfriends powerbook. Please help me :)

If you're not going into a router, reset the modem.... most likely the problem.

Some cable companies also lock access based on the MAC address of the NIC on your computer. You may need to call the cable company to see if this is the case.
