    Hi guys,
I just last month bought a F3JP AK048C (T7200, 120gb, X1700) for $1799 CAD, but now i go to Milestone and i see the F3SV B1 for the same price! everything looks better (NV8600M GS, 160gb, T7500, finger reader, lightscribe). I know the future always has better laptops, but this is one month later!!
I desided to jump in because ALOT of people were saying it'll cost more, and the increase wouldn't be so much, so if you needed one, go for it. I did need one, but i definitely would have lived without a lappy for this.
It looks to me like the difference (for equivalent cost) is ridiculous, is this really true? did i goof?

It happens...nothing you can really do. Plus you bought it when Santa Rosa was only a month away...It is basically like buying a brand new car a month before the new models come out right? You would have paid about the same for something better and newer. Nothing you can do really.

Your machine is fine. How much would this cost you? (the trade)

if it bothers you, you could sell it on ebay for around 1500-1600 CAD and get the new one...

That's some honesty there eternal, thanks.
Listen, i like the laptop, their's minor problems with it, but it's good. The car analogy doesn't really fit, as the difference in performance etc. is always limited from one year to the next, plus older models always get discounted, but not my lappy, in fact, it's still the same price now. The price should've been cheaper, which i was expecting (thus giving me the supposed reason why not to wait). Since this cost saving never materialized, I get a raw'er deal (not horrible, the machine is still nice).

Your machines going to perform alomost as well as the newer models. They won't show much significant difference that makes you unable to live with it.

Unfortunately, this is technology, we can't escape the constantly self improving machinery we know as computers.

When November and October comes around, and someone buys the G1s, lets say, in only a month or two, the Penryn chipset will be out, and then the G1r(making this up heh) will be out with some new processor and graphics card. Such is technology :)

You had exceptionally bad timing, its true. But Asus builds computers to last. Your notebook will still run well and be able to handle most of the games coming out in the next few years with no problem. You only really lost about 6-8 months of time. That compy will be done in 3.5 years yours in about 2.75 to 3

I wouldn't worry about it too much.
