This may be a stupid observation on my behalf. I obviosuly did not check but. How do you know it supports wake on lan and is enabled? If it is not in bios then it should not have wake on lan enabled. I am just applying desktop logic here. It may not apply to laptops. I am guessing you are able to receive a wake up frame on your nic? Is the light on when the laptop is off?

    I assumed it was WOL.

I shutdown my laptop without any problem. But when it is connected to LAN, After I shutdown a few minutes later it automatically turn on. heheehhe

It only happens if I connect it to the LAN at work and not at home. So I figured my corporate network might be sending some signal to wake it.

Can't seems to figure out why.

    Hmmm
thats freaky. Your work may be randomly sending wake up frames but i dont belive its a common practice. They would need to know your mac address which is not hard to get for your admin. Very interesting. This is certainly typical of how wol works and the situation you describe sound like the case but there has to be a bios manegement utility and as far as i see there are none. You should post a new thread on this when you figure out what the heck is going on. Does the nic light stay on when the cable is plugged in and the laptop is off.? Does it wake up from sleep or totally off?

Ok so if you have a desktop with wol always on technically it should turn on also if its in the same workplace. Since its in your house take it to your work and see what happens. Easier way would be to ask the network admin if they send wake packets. The only way your laptop would turn on and not your pc is if the admin is targeting your specific mac for the laptop. Pretty funny joke i must say but thats unlikely. I had a funny issue with the z70a which went back to asus. When it was plugged into the ac there is no way you can turn it off. It will shut down and start back up in 2 sec. The only way you can shut it off is pull out the ac then turn it off or hol dthe power button.

    Found it...

In the control panel, go to System.

From there go to the Device Manager

Right click on the intel adapter

In one of the tab, it list all the setting..WOL is in there
