or is it just mine? I just got a g51jx-x3 and i feel like the keyboard isnt responsive enough. ill type and it wont register a letter or the spacebar.

I have noticed the same thing on my laptop - G73jh. Mine is the chicklet style keys. I feel like I really have to hit the keys hard sometimes to not miss letters.

The keyboards don't necessarily suck, in that I mean the hardware is fine but apparently the keyboard issues are completely software related. I haven't noticed any significant keyboard issues on my part yet and I'm a fairly fast typist. Now the touchpad on the other hand...

its actually quite good.. way better than the hp keyboard..

Asus is wierd with keyboards, on my G71 had skipping keys and some others too, with most being fine, then on G51 i had a perfect responsive keyboard, very little said they had skipping, on the G73 i seen some also with the same deal, i think its just some unlucky laptops.

Of the Asus KBs I've tried, the keyboards were so-so. Couldn't bash on them as Asus laptops have been known for being well-built and affordable.

Yes, Asus laptops have had frequent issues with keyboard lags, due to a driver issue. Replacing the keyboard (which I have done) will not do anything. I have not found a solution, but perhaps other have.

They're not as nice as lenovo keyboards, they're about on par with apple (IMHO), but I *hate* chicklet keyboards in general... still, for the price of an asus, I'll deal with a keyboard I don't care for, and just use my model-m when I'm on my desktop.
do the asus keyboards suck
