    Im experimenting with it.
What im gaining in boot time im sort of losing in having to load their slow browser and type facebook.

    Anyone use this?

I keep accidentally hitting the ExpressGate button. It boots pretty fast, and I can see using it for a quick email check or Skype call.

I don't see why everyone will use it, if you want a fast booting OS, get DML, it boots as fast as express gate, and you can do a lot more with it, you can't even change the background image on express gate

I used it frequently on my n10j, express boot is AWESOME if you have an atom netbook and just need to check your mail.

i agree it is interesting and useful but i personally never use it. Now i am interested in this DML you referanced. I ussually never just do soemthing quick where the express gate would eb useful but I can see how some may use it alot.

    I will look at dml

could i hook it up to the express gate button?

as far as express gate well my windows 7 bboot time is

    19 sec to logon

    36 seconds to desktop

theirs is 8 seconds to logon unknow to desktop about 10 though

so i might be saving 30 seconds. unfortuneately from there they lose lots of time because their firefox takes a lot longer to load than chrome. im unable to change the home page so i have to navigate to facebook.

real time charge to facebook seems to be express gate plus 10 seconds.

no it has a stuck resolution not the same as my notebook either.

    you can adjust brightness tho.

Quite clunky. Im trying to work with it though

I believe it started as a program that loaded from a ssd so it was significantly faster. so we have kinda leftover clunk from a bygone era

I dont think asus advertises this on its newer laptops i could be wrong.

Express gate isn't as useful as it seems and like most folks here, I don't use it either.
